A scan reflects the state you arrive in. Five minutes of preparation makes results dramatically more useful.
The evening before
- Keep alcohol and unusually heavy, salty food moderate, both shift fluid and electrical state.
- Aim for a normal night's sleep; severe sleep debt dominates a reading.
On the day
- Hydrate normally. The body conducts through water; arriving dehydrated muddies the signal. Don't overcorrect with litres either.
- Keep caffeine consistent. A large espresso immediately before a scan reads as arousal. If coffee is non-negotiable, keep it identical scan to scan.
- Remove metal where practical, watches, large rings, anything near contact points.
- Settle first. Two quiet minutes seated before starting; rushing in from stress reads as stress.
The habit that outweighs everything
Consistency. Same rough time of day, similar hydration, same caffeine pattern, every time. Comparable conditions are what turn a series of scans into a trend that can be trusted, and the trend is the product. One-off readings are curiosities; trends are information.
